Personal project to calculate taxes for individuals living in Malta. There are two calculators available one for normally employed and one for self employed people.
The Malta Tax Calculator is a tool I developed to help individuals calculate their tax obligations in Malta. It takes into account various factors which can be toggled by the user such as relationship status, number of kids, if they are a student, etc. I update it every year to match the updated tax calculations published.
Furthermore I incorporated a blog section to the website in order to test out some SEO strategies among other optimisations such as react helmet to optimise SEO tags.
I also used this project to deepen my knowledge about optimising speed score of websites for SEO by significantly optimising bundle sizes. I even developed my own static site generation server used for serving pre-rendered html files to bot useragents. This allows the website to be properly indexed.
